Received from Gilberto Hinojosa, Chairman of Texas Democrat Party, makes sense to me, if the signers of seceding should take the lead of the Republican Party Romney and start their self deportation. We have to be law abiding citizens and it does not matter which state we reside.
Dear Democrats
Once again, Texas is leading the nation in a less than desirable way. As of this morning over 100,000 Texans have signed a petition to secede from the United States, by far more signers than from any other state. Rather than running around collecting petitions that ask for Texas to secede, were working to help Texas succeed.
Our old friend Lubbock County Judge Head must surely be giddy with excitement at the thought of a secessionist army. After all this is the guy who predicted a Civil War if President Obama was to get re-elected. Lucky for him, his wartime budget was approved by the Commissioners, and he looks to have the financial resources to repel the impending Blue Beanie UN invasion of the Texas Panhandle.
The radical beliefs of Judge Head and his kind may be good for occasional laughs. But at the Texas Democratic Party, were focused on the real work necessary for Texas to succeed.
Succeed as in:
Accepting $124 Billion dollars from the federal government to insure nearly 2 million Texans and generate over $400 Billion in economic growth.
Empowering women to receive equal pay and to have the ability to make decisions about their own bodies.
Fully funding our public schools to ensure the success of Texas children in the competitive world economy.
Theres a lot of work to done. And we couldnt do it without you by our side.

(58 posts)One thing I have found is that the most effective argument against these clowns is pointing out that all persons who serve or have served in the US Armed Forces have taken an oath to protect and defend The United States, and then I ask them if they expect these people to violate their oaths, along with inquiring into whether or not they have ever served. This is not some "left-right" political argument. Secession, and the advocation of secession, is treason and we should treat it as such. We should never fail to point that out to these crazies. The US Constitution has several ways in, and no way out, for states. The only legal way a state can secede is through Constitutional Amendment. If they claim some sort of right in some old treaty or whatever, it is usually a fantasy or typical right wing hoax-email legend. Simply tell them if they can get the consent of 2/3's of the Congress and a presidential signature, and the consent of 3/4's of the states, they can legally seceed, otherwise, they are traitors for advocating any other means, and will be subject to the oath taken by the men of our Armed Forces, who have pledged to destroy them, and not for the first time, either.

(1 post)Many Democratic activists here in Texas did something rather inventive when all of this petition nonsense started up. We set up different websites and new groups to find out exactly *WHO* these people are. It's a funny thing that they will sign up to anything without even thinking twice that it might be someone *on the other side*. And the things that they say when they think no one is watching. LOL! I won't give you any specifics but I will tell you all that you have to do is take the name of the West Texas radicals from the 90s and add *new* to it and they will FLOCK to it.
