1. Texas will turn blue

After the 2010 elections the GOP had 101 seats in the Texas State House compared to 49 seats held by Democrats. We need nine seats to flip the Texas House and there are 10 state house districts that Beto carried in 2018 that are among the 17+ seats being targeted.

2. I'll try to be optimistic and hope that Biden has enough coattails that we can make gains in the

Texas House. I've already read articles indicating that a special session may be necessary in the summer of next year for redistricting since it appears that the results from the census may be delayed. It looks like the regular session during the spring of next year is going to be difficult because of the pandemic and plunging oil prices affecting the budget.
