But yes, I'm going this weekend too. I got a beautiful buck on my "early vote" opening weekend.

Now, I'll hunt does for charity.

I may need to do my own thread on this, but this is a good place for now.

My Dad, me and my son are on a lease in east Texas. There are over 30 guns on the lease. What has become interesting, and apparent, in the past few years is the family tradition aspect of the deer hunting experience.

On our lease, we have no less than 8 father-son, if not father-son-grandson, combinations. In recent years, I have joined the group of sons who are taking on a role that is mainly that of caregiver for the founding "fathers' of the lease..

Now let me discuss the folks on this lease. These guys are the leading edge of low tech. My son and I, along with a couple of others, are the only ones who work in air conditioning. Not very much Obama love there - maybe me and 3-4 others will vote for him. But regardless of their political affiliations, I respect these 40-60 year-olds who are taking care of their fathers at the lease because they really care. These are men (all of them) who are rough and tumble and who talk about all manner of being the baddest guys on the block -- and then who are the most gentle, tender, loving and caring folks you have ever seen when dealing with their loved ones who are aged and/or infirm. I just wish they could translate that to governmental policies - but I wanted to share this goodness with everyone.

Peace- Gobama.
