South Texas club: No, we didn't discriminate against LGBTQ man wearing makeup, high heels

CORPUS CHRISTI -- The owner of a South Texas nightclub accused of discriminating against an LGBTQ man because he wore makeup and high heels said that's not why he was denied access.

Ben Rios posted two photos of himself on Facebook wearing makeup and dressed in all black with silver glitter high-heeled boots, along with a post about being turned away from VooDoo Niteclub Corpus Christi.

"Last night was supposed to be a great time with great friends. It was far from it," Rios wrote. "When I arrived, I was stopped at the door and DENIED entry for wearing makeup and wearing heels."

Rios wrote he was denied entry because he was “out of dress code.” The Caller-Times has reached out to Rios for further comment.
