'Without 7-Eleven, we were lost;' Bloomington's only gas station reopens after Harvey
After Hurricane Harvey shut down Bloomingtons only gas station for more than a year, residents like Stephanie De La Rosa were left wondering whether it would ever reopen.
It was like a little tear (fell) every time we passed by, recalled De La Rosa. Without 7-Eleven, we were lost.
But roughly 14 months after Harveys devastating blow, the 7-Eleven store and gas station are once again open for business. For Bloomington residents like De La Rosa, 7-Elevens reopening means she can now buy snacks, medicine, gasoline and other household staples at all hours of the day.
When we came (into the store) for the first time, you could see everyone was happy, said De La Rosa, who went to the store when it opened Tuesday and then again a day later. All the employees had smiles.
