Texas LG - maybe the most important statewide race

Since civics isn't as well taught in Texas public schools these days (thanks GOP), some might not realize that effectively the most powerful position in Texas state government is Lieutenant Governor. This race may well have more personal impact on the day-to-day lives of Texans than any other on the ballot. Yes, even Beto's...

From the mighty Wiki:
(Lieutenant Governor) controls the work of the Texas Senate and controls the budgeting process as a leader of the Legislative Budget Board.

Under the provisions of the Texas Constitution, the Lieutenant Governor is President of the Texas Senate.

If a Republican is returned to this position, Democrats will be effectively locked out from any ability to introduce legislation. The only bills that will be considered will be GOP priorities such as tax breaks for corporations, restricting women's' reproductive freedom, and worrying about what bathroom people can use.

If you have any resources to spare, please consider directing some to the Collier campaign.

Met with about 30 of us in Paris (Texas, that is) and took the time to answer every question. And make sense. Totally dialed in on support for public education and teachers by making the state restore the billions Republicans have stripped away. Has plan to close property tax loophole for corporations to pay for it.

Dan Patrick, his opponent, is not smart enough to be Satan but has ambitions for the position, anyway. Totally dialed in on bathrooms.
