Coastal Bend College former VPI and student accuse administrators of fraud, coercion
BEEVILLE -- A former Coastal Bend College administrator is calling for the ouster of president Beatriz Espinoza and her close inner circle, alleging unethical and perhaps illegal practices.
Matilda Saenz the colleges fifth interim vice president of instruction and economic development in about six years claims she was ignored by the college's board of trustees when she accused a group of administrators of committing fraud by changing the grades of hundreds of nursing students without faculty consent.
In May, when she reported to the board that the college's climate of intimidation and fear had enabled the fraud, Saenz said she was directed to submit grievances against the administrators involved.
She did. On May 25, Saenz submitted to human resources 27 grievances against seven Coastal Bend College administrators. The administrators include Coastal Bend College president Beatriz Espinoza and Saenzs subordinate at the time, Julia Garcia, who is the dean of workforce training and Espinozas sister.

I'm personally aware of the situation that has occurred at Coastal Bend College over the last several years and Ms. Saenz is correct with her allegations of corruption within the college. What the article fails to mention is that the CBC president's subordinate was not qualified for the job of workforce training. The college also had lawsuits filed by various professors over the past few years for discrimination and wrongful termination. Anybody who isn't a member of the top clique is vulnerable to the whims of the president and her sister.
