Schlitterbahn's Corpus park has two weeks to find buyer or face foreclosure
Schlitterbahn Waterpark & Resorts co-owner Jeffrey Henry’s recent indictment on second-degree murder charges has negatively affected efforts to sell its park and hotel on North Padre Island, a representative for a bankruptcy trustee said Tuesday.
The waterpark and surrounding property are facing foreclosure May 1 if a buyer cannot be found before then.
At a Tuesday court hearing, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Craig Gargotta wanted to know about the “chilling” effect Henry’s arrest has had on the sale process.
“You haven’t been dealt a lot of good cards in this case,” Gargotta said to Stephen Lemmon, the Austin lawyer for the Chapter 11 trustee appointed to oversee the Schlitterbahn Riverpark & Resort.
