Not even Texas' leaders can withstand the 'Justin Trudeau Effect'

Smiling at Justin Trudeau might just be the most relatable thing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has done in a while.

It might seem like the Internet’s obsession with the Canadian Prime Minister flares up every time he visits the United States. But I'd offer another hypothesis: Public dissatisfaction with U.S. political discourse is directly related to public admiration for Justin Trudeau.

Based on my observations and painstaking calculations, the trend line looks like this (don’t let the fact that this was illustrated on a Subway napkin deter you from its scientific accuracy):

In 2015 and 2016 and then again just after the election, the Internet dug up photos of a young Justin Trudeau and lost their minds over the idea that a politician could be seen as both effective and handsome.

{Note: There are other hot shots to swoon at the Twitter link}
