Gas pipeline explosion in Refugio seen, felt more than 50 miles away

A gas explosion rocked a small South Texas town early Wednesday, with communities as far as 60 miles away feeling shakes from the blast, according to media reports.

The natural gas pipeline explosion in Refugio occurred at a property owned by Kinder Morgan, an energy infrastructure company, according to ABC13 in Houston.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times is reporting the blast happened around 1 a.m. and no one was seriously injured.

Refugio is located about 45 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.
