Bill would create 9th-grade class on interacting with police

Hoping to reduce violent confrontations during traffic stops and other encounters with police, an influential Texas senator filed a bill Wednesday to require all public high school freshmen to take a course in how to interact with law officers.

Sen. John Whitmire, chairman of the Senate Criminal Justice Committee, said the legislation was “an important part of our efforts to reduce escalated — and too often deadly — encounters between officers and civilians.”

“There is no home team or visiting team. We must all come together to develop the best strategies to improve relations and trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve,” said Whitmire, D-Houston.

Senate Bill 273 would direct the State Board of Education to adopt a required course that would teach:

• The role and responsibilities of law officers.

• Proper behavior for civilians and police.

It is the duty of the police to be taught how to interact with civilians (aka, citizens). It is not the duty of citizens to be taught how to interact with the police in order to avoid being shot!!!! This is a step toward legitimating an authoritarian state.

They pretend as if the cops don't know when they unjustly, or viciously attack or kill

innocent citizens.

They are placing the blame on civilians.

WTF !!!

Train the cops to behave like human beings instead of out of control, group

think robots !!!!!!!!!!!

I can assure you that the state wants to spend the bare minimum on training their employees (or on the employees themselves).
