‘World’s largest house pet’ — Quinlan couple allows domesticated bison into their home

Wild Thing served as “best man” when Sherron and RC Bridges renewed their vows in 2007 for their sixth wedding anniversary. The 2,500-pound bison also makes itself at home in the Bridgeses’ house.


He doesn’t exactly whisper to his pet bison, but RC Bridges and his wife, Sherron, have a pretty good idea about what their 11-year-old, 2,500-pound pet can be coaxed into doing.

“Keep in mind,” RC Bridges said, “his head alone weighs 400 pounds.”

The Bridgeses’ pet bison, named Wild Thing by their daughter, certainly lives up to his name.

When he is outside, that is.

When Wild Thing is inside their house — and he is in the house on a daily basis — he’s very well-mannered, said RC Bridges, who has been gained the nickname “the Buffalo Whisperer” in newspaper stories and TV news features for his work with domesticating the animal.

to skip and not post it. However, I'd hate to be the one to ask Wild Thing to move if I couldn't see the TV.
