The Texas Democratic Party- The Texas Two Step: Primary and Caucus

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Democratic_Party
snip
Texas Two-Step[edit]
At the 2010 convention, Texas Democrats voted to keep the controversial Two-Step system. Most states use either a primary or a caucus in order to determine presidential nominees, but Texas runs an combination of both. The antipathy towards George W. Bush and the allure of a contentious race drew almost 3 million Democrats to the primary polls. During the Democratic Presidential caucuses, thousands of new Texas Democrats showed up and overwhelmed the old-guard party officials. Factions of the Texas Democrats complained that this populist outburst wrought havoc on the caucus process. Almost immediately after the results, Party regulars began calling to change the system or even to abolish the caucus altogether. In the end, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, but Barack Obama's well-organized campaign won the caucus.[9][10]

saying that Texas has only a Primary now, and maybe, who and why it changed.

Look at the pictures. It looks like the whole thing may need to be reviewed and updated. As Texans, we would like for everything to be correct.

Does the Democratic Party of Texas have a committee that looks after facts about History and facts about Democrats in the elections?

Who can update Wikipedia?

Thanks for your question.

That's its weakness and its strength. You need to know the reputation of a particular topic to know how far to trust it.

This is 2016, not 2008. If you have read the previous posts, you know that the two step primary/caucus has been changed.

a question that we both already knew the answer too? I answered only for historical reasons and because I thought that you were gong to be kind enough, and maybe wanted to, make the necessary changes to correct the parts that you were asking about, too. Apparently I was wrong.

Here is a request from me to you: Please fell free to go in and remove the information from the site link. I will not do it. I have told this Group, before that I have some dyslexia difficulties. Feel free to place me on Ignore. Have a good day.

16. No precinct convention, however, there will still be the Senate District Convention

on March 19th in Tarrant County. It is being held at Paschal High school from 8:00 sign in; 9:00-4:00 for the convention.

This is where the delegates are decided if I understand correctly.

18. If it is like 2014, the precincts caucus first

Then each Senate District convenes all its precincts to do all the resolutions and so on; and then the whole group convenes if I remember correctly.

I was trying to remember when we vote on the SDEC; I think that is at State Convention.

10. Perhaps there needs to be a 2016 wikipedia-like page as one does not exist, as far
Mon Feb 8, 2016, 09:48 AM

as I can find.

https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AwrSbm2albhWcWAAJkWl87UF;_ylc=X1MDOTU4MTA0NjkEX3IDMgRmcgMEZ3ByaWQDN01JMnZPVllUbk9PNGFxdThwN3dkQQRuX3JzbHQDMARuX3N1Z2cDNARvcmlnaW4Dc2VhcmNoLnlhaG9vLmNvbQRwb3MDMARwcXN0cgMEcHFzdHJsAwRxc3RybAMzMARxdWVyeQNXaWtpcGVkaWEtMjAxNiBUZXhhcyBFbGVjdGlvbnMEdF9zdG1wAzE0NTQ5Mzc0ODU-?p=Wikipedia-2016+Texas+Elections&fr=sfp&fr2=sb-top-search&iscqry=

Then, maybe, a sentence or so, may need to be added to say that the Texas Two Step is no longer in effect and when and what happened to change things. President Obama ran for office beginning in February 2007. And he was elected in November of 2008, as we all know. It is not up to me. I have done all I can by making the latest page, that I know about, available to the Texas Group.

The 2008 wiki article in the OP, is what I call a historical record. In my opinion, it would be best to add to it to make it current. Then when the 2016 Primary is over, a new page could be written. Then that might be followed by another new page about the Texas 2016 Elections. Or a page about both could be written.

In my opinion and let me say again, that I believe that the Texas Democratic Party should be consulted before and if any changes are made. The perfect writer(s) could be people on the DU board.

Best wishes for a good day to all.

but a part of me is glad I don't have to deal with that BS on election night again. 2008 burned me out of participating in the Texas Democratic Party.
