Open carry gun advocates planning a 'mock shooting' at the University of Texas during finals week

The Open Carry Walk and Crisis Performance Event will involve actors “shot” by perpetrators armed with cardboard weapons, said Matthew Short, a spokesman for the gun rights groups Come and Take It Texas and DontComply.com.

“It’s a fake mass shooting, and we’ll use fake blood,” he said. He said gun noises will be blared from bullhorns. Other people will then play the role of rescuers, also armed with cardboard weapons.

that's brilliant. Maybe some people will flunk out. After all, one can never be too ignorant.

these ignorant asses off campus kicking them in the butt down the street. Hope news media is on sight to film these ignorant yahoos.

Of course this is Texas, so it might be hard to find some students who care.

where I live. While there might be some exceptions, the majority -- like 60% or more -- are yahoos. I feel confident it is the same or worse in the state that seems to want to secede. In any event, we'll see if any counter-protesters appear.

It's not because the students don't care, but because they recognize the right to free speech even if it is unpopular.

I suppose if there are no real guns, you have a point. But, most of those yahoos are too scared/irrational to go anywhere with a gun tucked somewhere.

the Open Carry proponents ask. "Why is everyone so upset with us? They seem to think we are pouring salt in an open wound of some sort."
