Related: About this forumLt. Gov. Dan Patrick says he’ll push for religious protections; Pelosi also attends TribuneFest
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said when the next Legislature convenes in January 2017, he will champion efforts to protect religious believers, particularly Christians, from having to participate in gay marriages or other acts that violate their faith.
There plenty of people who will take care of a same-sex wedding, he said Friday night during the keynote address kicking off this weekends Texas Tribune Festival, a gathering of newsmakers and politicians on the University of Texas campus.
To deny that our nation was based upon Christian principles and values would be to deny history. I didnt say everyone in our nation has to be Christian. I said were a Christian nation, Patrick said. Our country is in quite a bit of turmoil today because we have strayed a long way from those (Christian) values.
Patrick also said that although he disagreed with the Supreme Courts decision on gay marriage that county clerks must comply with the law and issue marriage licenses to all couples.

Nobody tells me anything.
Is the plot to throw Xians to the gay lions still in the planning stage or did I miss the start of that too?
