3,500 acres burned, 150 homes threatened in Bastrop County fire; 2nd fire near Jarrell

BASTROP COUNTY — 11 p.m. update: A total of 150 homes are under threat of fire in Bastrop County, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

10:30 p.m. update: About 3,500 acres of land have burned in the Hidden Pines fire in Bastrop County, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The fire is still 10 percent contained and has a “very active fire behavior,” the forest service said.

10:20 p.m. update: Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation for some residents living on Alum Creek Road near Texas 71, Village Forest Drive, Tree Top Lane and Wild Bird Loop.
