Anti-abortion rally at Texas Capitol targets Planned Parenthood

Anti-abortion advocates rallied Tuesday at the Texas State Capitol to ask legislators to cease funding to Planned Parenthood.

“This is not just about the babies,” said State Rep. Jodie Laubenberg (R-Parker). “They are liars and destroyers of life.”

About 150 people attended the protest, according the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The rally comes a day before the lawmakers with the Senate Health and Human Services Committee meet at a public hearing to discuss Planned Parenthood’s practices and allegations that the group sells fetal tissue.

FORT WORTH -- Susan Hulet offered up a brief prayer as she stood outside a Planned Parenthood clinic Tuesday afternoon.

“Father, forgive us for letting this happen,” she said, talking about abortions that have performed across the country during the past four decades that the procedure has been legal.
Brittany Ragon confronts pro-choice advocate Jermone Haltom during an anti-abortion rally outside of Planned Parenthood in Fort Worth on Tuesday.

“America has abandoned its weakest,” said Hulet, who founded the Tarrant County-based Mercy House, a Christian refuge that provides shelter and support to pregnant women in need. “Is this the legacy we want for our future?”

Hulet joined her voice with more than 100 others at a local rally calling for the government to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood, a reproductive health services and abortion provider.

In the Holy Bible, if a husband wanted, he could order his wife to drink bitterwater to kill the fetus began by another man, if he believed that his wife had become pregnant through adultery. Same for the father of a girl. This could only occur within 45 days of the encounter as after that the fetal heart begins to beat. I believe that the Bible says that a soul comes into the fetus when the heart starts to beat.

Time to make bitterwater or the morning after pill, available for anyone to buy over the counter in Texas. I expect the RW Congress and House, to follow their own rules and morals!

"Father forgive us for letting this happen. Breast cancer exams for poor women who can't afford trips to the doctor. Assistance during pregnancy so less-fortunate women will bear strong, healthy children. Pap smears for women so they won't die from cervical cancer. Assistance for less-prosperous women so they can conceive and bear children. Treatment for STDs without shaming and humiliation. Access to birth control and family planning services for women so they have drastically-reduced chances of getting pregnant and being faced with their own personal abortion dilemma."

Posted because I have lost my belief that the GOPTP really gives a rap about public health or the health of the poor and struggling women of Texas.

Is it true that Rick Perry's sister runs an abortion clinic in Texas?
