Lubbock Countys emergency management coordinator has been reinstated following a sheriffs office and Secret Service review of a post he was accused of making on Facebook.
Clinton Thetford, an employee of the Lubbock County Sheriffs Office, was placed on paid leave last week after he was accused of posting a cartoon of Looney Tunes character Elmer Fudd shooting President Barack Obama.
Thetford was reinstated effective Tuesday and in consultation with Lubbock County Judge Tom Head, according to a statement from the sheriffs office.
This follows an internal review by the sheriffs office as well the United States Secret Service of a cartoon graphic Mr. Thetford uploaded to his personal Facebook page, the statement reads. The Secret Service concluded after their interview that no laws had been violated with regard to the image itself, and subsequently notified us of their findings.

(15,805 posts)Every action of this cop that involves a person of color will be tainted by his public racist views, and the government's official acceptance and endorsement of his views.
My family moved from Calif to that area of Texas in the 60s and the overt racism was shocking, but it was the norm and that made it even more appalling. Looks like it still remains firmly entrenched, 50 years later. How sad for everyone.
