Texas Writhing - People can't grab their remotes quick enough to change from the History Channel

GOLIAD – Local historians anxiously anticipated the release of the History Channel’s star-studded miniseries “Texas Rising” when it was learned that much of the eight-episode drama would focus on Goliad’s Fort Defiance and the tragedy that befell Colonel James Fannin and his Texian soldiers.

It didn’t take long for most of them to grab their remotes and change the channel.

“Texas Rising” has been panned by just about every Texas Revolution expert and historians have expressed their disappointment in the miniseries’ historical inaccuracies and artistic license.

“My Facebook account was slammed the night that thing first aired,” Presidio La Bahia Director Scott McMahon said. “All my friends were posting about it and complaining about it. The history community used to look at the History Channel as a decent place to learn some history. But I think the History Channel has lost its way.

with fantasies and fiction. I know not who owns it, but I would be surprised if someone like Murdoch has a major hand in it.
Throw enough shit at the wall and some will stick. Enough to make things stink and people turn away from studying history.

If the history channel were the only cable channel like that but it seems that anything with a name that sounds good is purposed to put crap on to confuse people and create alternative stories.

history channel is probably the worst of the bunch - there's TLC that has little to learn from and in my view it looks like much of the discovery channels are crap.

if they were told about it. Some school districts are not getting out rewrite textbooks, since they are owned by the state but instead are using the objectives of a History and Science local curriculum committee determination and resulting Curriculum Guide which has been approved by the state education agency.

Texans are seeing a revolt against Extremism.
