George P. Bush won his land commissioner race in a landslide, gaining 61 percent of the vote. Given the cumbersome and lengthy nature of litigation in the U.S., it appears the Land Office case will have only just begun by the time Bush assumes the office.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005, which exempts the oil and gas industry from the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Water Act and the National Environmental Policy Act for fracking, is seen by critics as the legacy of ashes left behind by the George W. Bush Administration.

DENTON, Texas (CN) - Threatened with litigation and intervention by the Texas Legislature, the Denton City Council repealed its first-of-its kind fracking ban, and drillers have already gone back to work.

Voters in Denton, a city of 120,000 just northwest of Dallas, approved an ordinance banning fracking in the city in the November 2014 general election.

The city was sued twice immediately .

Within hours, the Texas Oil & Gas Association and the Texas General Land Office filed separate lawsuits, claiming that only the Texas Railroad Commission and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality have authority to regulate the oil and gas industry - not municipalities.

American people gave him a green light to do what ever he (and Cheney) wanted to do. Keep in mind that the Supreme Court ruled that the secret meetings between Chaney and Oil company CEOs could be kept secret and away from the public. Then Americans got The Energy Act of 2005 so as to make it legal to destroy our water, if it so pleased the Bush's and other dirty energy producer owners.

Why do Texans continue to vote against their own interest and now against their own health? We are getting water filters for the sinks, showers, and washer in our home. What a sad reality this state and country have become due to it continuing destruction by the GOP.
