and just late this afternoon was starting to show signs of developing a spin.

NOAA gives it an 80% chance of turning into a tropical storm in the next couple of days.

to pick up some extra groceries, cat food and batteries. I need to call in another order for insulin since I'm down to about 3-4 days supply. The weather forecast calls for 8-12 inches of rain so if that occurs there will likely be more flooding in Wharton. The biggest concern will be with the electricity going out though.

I also read that they ordered no more recreational activity on the Comal River due to the expected flooding from the deluge around San Antonio.

I doubt that it will flood in the part of Wharton where I'm living, but if it rains as much as they are predicting I imagine that parts of the town will have to evacuate again since the Colorado river is still out of its banks.

It's raining outside right now, but it isn't heavy and there hasn't been any thunder or lightning. However, it just means that the ground is saturated further and more runoff will occur if there is a deluge. Since you're in Austin I ask that you please don't send any more water this way. Stop flushing the toilet and taking showers!
