'Mr. Conservative' May seeks to depose sexual harassment accuser, files petition

LUBBOCK -- A local politician seeks to depose a Texas Tech law student and her father regarding sexual harassment claims they’ve made against him.

Dr. Donald R. May is seeking to obtain testimony for a potential defamation lawsuit, according to a petition filed Monday in the 99th District Court.

A hearing on the petition is set for June 26.

“Dr. May wants to clear his name,” said Fernando Bustos, May’s attorney. “It is unfortunate he has to go to these lengths to do it.”

May writes conservative blogs on Lubbockonline.com under the title Mr. Conservative, and writes a regular debate column in the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s opinion pages.
