Newton County judge dies in accident
Newton County's new county judge, Ronnie W. Boyett, died Saturday from injuries he suffered after a tree fell on him, KJAS Radio is reporting.
Boyett was elected this past November.
He was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival shortly before 6:00 p.m.
