Related: About this forumDay 2 of anti-immigrant protests in Lubbock: Twice the crowd! Two people show up.
After learning about a two-day anti-immigration protest that started Friday, Molina decided to counter-protest Saturday, standing at the corner of 42nd Street and Interstate 27 in Lubbock holding a sign reading, This land is your land. This land is my land. ... This land was made for you and me.
About one-hour into the event, two anti-immigration protesters arrived without signs. They were disappointed by the turnout and stayed for about 30 minutes before leaving. The group of about 10 counter-protesters left shortly thereafter.
We thought we were going to support the (anti-immigration protesters), said Bud Hefley of Portales, New Mexico. Apparently theyre not very organized.

(7,672 posts)The rate depends on the need of the child, but is a minimum of $22.15 per day.
All children in foster care are covered by Star Health through the Superior Health Network.
You will not be adding these children to your personal insurance policies.
Infants and toddlers can qualify for WIC assistance.
LSS offers up to$150.00 reimbursement per child for clothing, if they are initially entering foster care and come with little clothing.
Families are reimbursed $50 in the first 14 days and an additional $100 after 14 days to assist with these initial clothing expenses.

22 bucks a day plus a one-time reimbursement for $150 worth of clothes - reimbursement being the key word here.
People do not foster for the bucks, and there is a critical shortage.

(30,058 posts)At the chance to do so. Didn't think the $6000 a month was correct but thought it would be funny to add to this thread to have the protesters to run for where the money is rather than protesting.
Thanks for your info.
