Growing pains of Eagle Ford experienced by South Texas counties

“Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore,” DeWitt County Judge Daryl Fowler told a room of people gathered at the Eagle Ford Consortium Conference in San Antonio earlier this month.

DeWitt county, along with many other counties in the Eagle Ford, are growing in population faster than infrastructure, lodging, city personal and road crews can keep up.

Fowler said his county has changed greatly over the last 14 months, and the growth has come with good and bad. One of the bad sides of growth is damage to roads.

“Sites in our county are taking in excess of about 200 trips of gravel per pad site,” he said.

But this is probably going to bust with $2 MBTU natural gas prices and them shutting down all the rigs drilling dry gas...

Moving to areas where they can drill for oil with gas

They just drilled and fracted 7 dry gas well near me and capped them off because of depressed market prices.

They (big oil) will/ are be pushing for LNG export terminal ASAP. Already underway at Sabine port. Sell our gas to foriegn market and blame OBAMA for high prices. LOL
Just look at XL Canadian to Port Arthur Terminal Port

Why spend 2 billion for extra pipeline from OKC to port Arthur and a hurricane prone area when it could be refined and distrubed cheaper form Cushing and Oklahoma city???

There is already a distrubution net work out of OKC area and no hurricanes there yet??
