Growing pains of Eagle Ford experienced by South Texas counties
Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore, DeWitt County Judge Daryl Fowler told a room of people gathered at the Eagle Ford Consortium Conference in San Antonio earlier this month.
DeWitt county, along with many other counties in the Eagle Ford, are growing in population faster than infrastructure, lodging, city personal and road crews can keep up.
Fowler said his county has changed greatly over the last 14 months, and the growth has come with good and bad. One of the bad sides of growth is damage to roads.
Sites in our county are taking in excess of about 200 trips of gravel per pad site, he said.
