Deputies arrest brother of man accused in Beaumont courthouse shooting rampage
HOUSTON The brother of a Houston man accused in a deadly shooting rampage at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Beaumont was arrested Wednesday night.
The suspects brother Lyndon Granger is also charged in the same child sex assault case. He called a press conference outside his home in northeast Houston to talk about the courthouse shooting.
Flanked by Bartholemew Grangers brother and his son, community activist Quanell X brushed aside condolences long enough to raise questions of a conspiracy against the Granger family. The same questions were raised in a civil lawsuit the brothers filed in federal court against authorities in Harris and Jefferson counties. The lawsuit, which sought $250 million in damages for mental anguish, was dismissed.
The family is appalled by the behavior of their loved one, but they do understand why he snapped, because he couldnt receive justice, Quanell X said.
