Port of Corpus Christi wind turbines helping to power local grid

CORPUS CHRISTI — Nine out of 10.

That's a rule-of-thumb estimate in the wind energy industry of the number of projects which aren't completed for different reasons, Revolution Energy General Manager Tibor Hegedus said.

"On more than one occasion, I've heard the phrase 'It will never get built,' " Hegedus said of wind projects. "With the help of many of you in the audience, we got it built."

Investors, local, state and federal representatives gathered Monday at the Port of Corpus Christi to celebrate the completion of the first phase of the Harbor Wind Energy Farm on port property along Nueces Bay.

The article includes some surprising commentary by U.S. Representative Blake Farenthold (R) who stated, "This is the beauty of Corpus Christi. We are the proof that all of the above energy is the solution." Doesn't that sound like President Obama?

More wind power for Texas. We already lead the nation in wind power and it helps to keep ahead with more diversified projects like this. Notice the project was a foreign investment.

Blake Farenthold is a one-termer. You shouldn't put a whole lot of stock in what he says. He'll go back to his pajama parties in the fall.

Yes this is an actual picture of the Congressman that represents Corpus Christi!

There are three Republicans and four Democrats challenging him for CD 27. He will have to get all his duckies lined up if he wants to get reelected.

And forget getting re-elected. He won in a fluke election anyway.

Those poor ducks.
