Family of 'affluenza' teen settles with victims' families

The family of the teenager who fatally struck a disabled motorist and three good Samaritans last summer while driving drunk near Burleson has settled lawsuits with some of the victims’ families.

The Couch family agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to the families of Breanna Mitchell and Hollie Boyles and her daughter Shelby.

The family of youth pastor Brian Jennings has not reached a settlement with Couch’s family.

Jennings and the Boyleses had pulled over to help Mitchell, who had stopped after a tire blowout late June 15 in the 1500 block of Burleson-Retta Road.

So, if you're poor and drive drunk and kill someone, you're going to get locked up...which is fair TxDemChem Mar 2014 #2

Anything that leaves them with a lingering case of "alfulenza" hasn't done much.

Their afluenza needs to put into remission.

But if you're rich and drive drunk and kill someone, you can buy yourself a nice stay at a resort/rehab center and buy off the victim's families. I hope that pastor's family refuses to settle.
