Texas Honey Ham heavily damaged in fire

[div style="width:20%;"]

AUSTIN -- The well-known Westlake restaurant Texas Honey Ham was heavily damaged today in an early morning fire, which also caused destruction to two adjoining businesses and brought smoke damage throughout the entire building of the shopping center, Westlake firefighters said.

No one was injured or in the building at Bee Cave and Reveille roads at the time, said Lt. Heath Nobles, Westlake Fire Department spokesman.

A nail salon and financial adviser Edith Karnes’ Edward Jones office took on fire control damage and water damage as firefighters battled the blaze, first reported at 3:32 a.m., Nobles said.

When firefighters arrived, there were “flames through the roof around the ventilation system from the cooking equipment. … Moderate damage was really isolated to the food prep area in the back,” Nobles said.
