Related: About this forumConservative radio hack Mark Davis pens column backing anti-gay AZ bill — and the DMN publishes it
John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and even Republican senators who voted for it have now come out against Arizonas anti-gay license to discriminate law.
But Mark Davis, a conservative radio host and columnist for the Dallas Morning News, has penned a column in support of the hateful anti-gay legislation:
For the millionth time, there is no such thing as a gay marriage ban. Same-sex couples may marry any time, anywhere. The only question is whether those unions will receive the various recognitions and benefits of man-woman marriage, many of which can be conferred under civil unions.
But the gay rights movement has its sights set on running up the score. Not only do its advocates condemn states wishing to maintain a biblical marriage definition, they will not rest unless individual businesses are forced to subjugate their religious belief to the new order.
Noticing various businesses being harassed by lawsuits for politely refusing to photograph or bake cakes for weddings that offend their faith, the trailblazing Arizona Legislature has crafted Senate Bill 1062, which would provide protection against such affronts.
The cries from the left are predictable, but there will be more than a few Republicans who buy into the nonsense that this is somehow akin to refusing black clientele. While there is no scriptural admonition against interracial marriage, Leviticus 18:22 is the basis for Judeo-Christian disapproval of homosexuality.
We are all free to embrace or ignore that teaching, but it cannot be swept aside by bullies demanding tolerance while offering none to their principled opponents.

Since Davis is citing Leviticus, were assuming he doesnt eat shellfish, believes in punishing adultery by death, and only wears clothes from one kind of thread. Davis says the Bible doesnt mention interracial marriage, but it doesnt specifically mention same-sex marriage either, and in fact both the Old Testament and states rights were used to justify slavery.
The real question is, why is the Dallas Morning News printing this hateful bullshit?

They give him too much of a platform.
And if he were smart, he'd not cite Leviticus. As the OP points out, that makes for interesting points in a rebuttal.
