Accident report shows Rep. Stefani Carter at fault in accident she cited at candidate forum

A police document shows that state Rep. Stefani Carter was at fault – when she said she wasn’t – in a car accident that she described as giving her new perspective on life.

The North Dallas Republican said at a candidate forum that the Jan. 21 crash was a “life-altering” event. But some of the worst effects appear to be for the other driver. His car was totaled, and he said he still suffers back and neck pain.

The crash report and the account given by the other driver, Rolando Cerezo, highlight other apparent contradictions in Carter’s telling. Those inconsistencies include the crash’s location and the relative severity of the accident.

“She’s being ridiculous, taking it that far,” said Cerezo, who lives in Carrollton. “She’s the one who hit my car. … I was the one in the life-threatening situation. Not her.”

Cerezo said Carter had filed a claim against his insurance, but his provider denied it because the accident report showed she was at fault. He’s still waiting for payment from her insurer, and he’s hired a lawyer to follow up.

Should we be surprised that another Republican is an opportunist and delusional?

FWIW, Cerezo needs to hire "The Hammer" since "The Strong Arm" can't even win his own auto accident lawsuit.
