(4,695 posts)does not vote but is instead lead around out of burden or fear. Some refer to it as sheep people. Others say it is feudalism.
Thank you for helping make my point that women, the poor and the working class can be treated inhumanly by the Republican Party members without even realizing it.

(2,674 posts)Early voting stated in Texas this week and already having problems. If your voter ID says Mary Ann Smith and your driver license says Mary Jones Smith - you will no be able to vote.
Texas DL require the woman maiden name as the middle on the DL, but the voter ID will take any name you put in. Also if you enter your name the old fashion way, Mrs. John Smith, this is not acceptable.
Yesterday a lady judge down in Corpus Christi was denied the right to vote because her name did not match on the ID and registration. She had been voting for 47 years and was denied.
Most women don't know they are going have a problem. This election is a low interest election with low turnout. Think what will happen next year when governor comes for vote. All the gals will be out to vote for Wendy Davis and many will be turned away.
To get everything right put a burden on women, a trip to the DL office, contacting the election office or what ever ID, then hope you have it right. Just like the vaginal probe, the repub find another way to make life hard for women.
I voted yesterday at the same place I have voted for many years. I did not have a problem, but who knows, my drivers license name is not right, but my voter card matches, they are both wrong. Two wrongs make a right.

(4,695 posts)every woman had to sign an affidavit in order to have the right to vote. This should be a big issue for discussion during the next year. I think that the media should inform the public about this during the next two weeks. This issue could help to get everyone registered to vote.
I will definitely vote this week. It will be interesting to see how I feel when I have to jump through the hoop just to get to vote.
