Conflict over the responsibility for the government shutdown got personal at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Wednesday when a member of Congress confronted a U.S. Park Service Ranger over access to the closed park land.
The congressman was Randy Neugebauer, a Republican representing Texas. He confronted the ranger in the middle of a crowd of tourists as she was keeping most of the public out of the closed World War II memorial.
The Park Service has been allowing World War II vets who have traveled from all over the country to enter the memorial, even though it's closed during the government shutdown; the rangers say they are exercising their First Amendment rights as they let the veterans in.
But they are keeping the rest of the public out of the facility, which is officially closed. And that did not sit well with the congressman, reported News4's Mark Segraves, who witnessed the confrontation.

Most of you are familiar with Juanitas favorite yachtsman, Republican Congressman Randy Neugebauer of deep West Texas. The district that Randy represents is landlocked and 95% dessert. The other 5% is asphalt.
However, Randy bought a damn yacht with his campaign donations. Not a bass boat. Not even a ski boat. Its a yacht. In fact, heres what it looks like, she shows a picture to everyone and they all say, Damn, girl, that a yacht!
Here is a picture of the yacht purchased with campaign funds
It is hard to take anything that this idiot says seriously

Sorry, Rep Randy, but I'm not Tea-bagged dumbed-down to believe that your play-toy is a slightly-bigger-than-average bass boat.

(9,118 posts)Members of Neugebauer's congressional district deserve to be embarrassed by him. After all, they elected him. His conservative Democratic predecessor, Charles Stenholm, may not have been a progressive, but he never would have done unto his constituents as his Tea-bagging Gopster successor.

(145,291 posts)According to Juanita Jean, CREW has filed an ethics complaint against this idiot http://www.juanitajean.com/2013/10/04/at-the-very-least-someone-should-sink-his-yacht/
Well, the good folks over at CREW did more than just get upset. They did something.Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House.
I know. Its hard to believe that he hasnt been be brought up before on conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House. Of course, Tom DeLay and Louie Gohmert lowered the standard on that pretty good.Rep. Neugebauers demeaning treatment of the ranger reinforces the commonly held belief that members of Congress are arrogant and have an over-inflated sense of superiority, continued [CREW Executive Director Melanie] Sloan. The House cannot permit its members to berate federal employees for a government shutdown for which Congress is responsible. Rep. Neugebauer needs to be held accountable for his reprehensible conduct.
This is good news.
