Related: About this forumTed Cruz: "We Need 100 More Like Jesse Helms"
http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2013/09/ted-cruz-we-need-100-more-jesse-helmsThat Cruz would praise Helms while delivering Heritage's annual Helms Lecture is hardly unusual. And the two do share an extreme skepticism of the international communityHelms as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; Cruz as Texas' first solicitor general. But Helms, who passed away in 2008, was an emblem for more than just conservatism. At a time when Republicansincluding Cruzare emphasizing the need to broaden the party's base, the first-term lawmaker and rumored presidential candidates is embracing one of the upper chamber's most notorious bigots.
Shades of Trent Lott wishing Strom Thurmond had won the presidency. However, Cruz won't suffer in the Republican Party for this.
We do need 100 more like Jesse Helms - in hell with the original one. I'd be happy to escort you to the front of the line, Dear Senator o' Mine.

A Senate full of Jesse Helms, like some hellish Being John Malkovich sequel.

after he resigns to run a failed Presidental primary.... and suddenly is replaced with a true-blue Texan Democrat, be damned.
Man on Dog needs to go too....
