AG Candidate Patrick Murphy Demands that Corbett Apologize for Insensitive Comments about probes

There is nothing like government-ordered probes of women. They are calling Va. Governor McDonnell "Governor Vaginal Probe"

From PA. attorney General candidate Patrick Murphy:

"Yesterday, Gov. Tom Corbett was asked about House Bill 1077, the so-called “Women’s Right-to-Know Act,” which would force women to undergo a mandatory and invasive ultrasound at least 24 hours before receiving abortion care. He said the following:

“I don’t know how you can make anybody watch, because you just have to close your eyes,” said Corbett. “But as long as it’s on the exterior, not interior.”

Patrick Murphy issued the following statement:

“It’s bad enough that Governor Corbett wants to force women to get an unnecessary and invasive procedure as a means of getting a government permission slip to undergo legal medical care. It’s worse yet that he wants to shame them by shoving an ultrasound screen in their face. But it’s unthinkable that he would so casually dismiss this by advising women to just close their eyes. Governor Corbett’s comments are disturbingly offensive, insensitive, and out of touch. He should apologize immediately.” Murphy said. “As I have said before, this legislation is an outrageous assault on women’s rights in Pennsylvania and an unprecedented intrusion into decisions that should be made exclusively between a woman and her doctor.

The proposal is demeaning, mean spirited and wrong. There is no legal justification for forcing a woman to undergo an invasive ultrasound, and after careful analysis, I believe that no reasonable arguments can be made to support the Constitutionality of this bill. As Attorney General, I could not defend it against a Constitutional challenge.”

Did Corbett tell Sandusky's victims to "just close their eyes" while Corbett waited almost 3 YEARS to charge Sandusky? Corbett was given full responsibility for the investigation in EARLY 2009. He had one investigator working part-time on the case.

We don't have recall and the Republicans own the capital. They are going to ruin the state before they're done. I'm furious. They did voter ID today and it will be "right to work" tomorrow. We are so fucked.

If we work hard, we can get an activist Attorney General elected - Patrick Murphy - who will serve as a check and balance to Corbett. We also need to get more Dems back into the legislator. The Dems controlled the PA. House up until the 2010 election. The House is now filled with teabagger freshmen who need to go.

If we had a fairer Supreme Ct., I'd bet there would be a lot of challenges to them, citing the Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable searches and seizures, among other things. But I am sure some potential plaintiffs worry that if a challenge made it to the SC, a decision to uphold one of these laws could harm many more women than are currently harmed.

Is that like "lie back and think of England?"

I'd call Corbett a pig, but that would be an insult to pigs. Pigs are intelligent creatures...Corbett is ignorant AND stupid.
