Bucks County man gets probation for intimidating two Muslim women

A Hilltown man will be under the watchful eye of the criminal justice system for the next five years for intimidating two Muslim women at a crowded shopping center in Montgomery County in 2015.

Thomas W. Driver, 53, of the 100 block of Nettles Lane in the Perkasie section of Hilltown, received the five-year probation sentence Tuesday after pleading guilty in Montgomery County Court to a misdemeanor offense of ethnic intimidation.

Under the terms of a plea agreement accepted by President Judge William J. Furber Jr., Driver will have to attend and complete Diversity and Interfaith classes, undergo a mental health evaluation and comply with any recommendations stemming from the evaluation and perform 36 hours of community service by participating in the “Feed Philly” program.

Also, Driver must forfeit the Glock 9mm handgun used in the incident to county detectives. He has 30 days to legally sell all other firearms he possesses or they also will be forfeited to detectives.
