It's an exciting time for Pennsylvania. On Tuesday, Katie McGinty announced her candidacy for the Senate to defeat anti-woman, anti-family, and anti-Planned Parenthood Republican Senator Pat Toomey.

And today at EMILY's List, we endorsed her.

Katie's been fighting for Pennsylvania families for years. She served as secretary of Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection (she was the first woman!), where she ensured Pennsylvania families had a healthy environment. She also chaired Fresh Start Pennsylvania, an organization focused on education and strengthening the middle class.

Pennsylvania is a great opportunity for us to flip one of the five seats we need to take back the Senate in 2016. Katie McGinty stands for commonsense policies like raising the minimum wage and protecting access to women's health resources. Her experiences in Pennsylvania and as Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality make her the most qualified candidate in this race.

I know Katie has the passion it takes to win a tough primary — and then face a Republican incumbent in the general election.

don't forget about Admiral Joe Sestak. His message is similar to Senator Bernie Sanders, and if Bernie does as well as some project, then the Admiral may be able to take the primary in PA.
