I'm totally pissed off on Casey's response (cross post from Environment and Energy)

Link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/112780960

Basically, because the XL pipeline will be good for jobs and the environmental impact is considered minimal, he votes for it. Of course, he tells me how the amendments (some which were good) which he voted for did not pass. So, I'm supposed to see how this state's D works on behalf of us in the Senate. Not good...

in these letters, as if you don't probably know more than they do about the issue you contacted them about? It is as if their explanation will enlighten you and make you agree with them and understand their vote.

I do not understand his vote. That response really pisses me off as well. This is not the first time that I have been disappointed in him. Every time that his vote is the same as Toomey's vote, I cringe....because Toomey is batshit crazy.

That's EXACTLY how these response are written. That kind of, "you're such children" explanations started back when Murphy represented me in the House. It's boiler plate.

I'm trying to get my facts, because you can't address these guys with anything else. So, the way I see it, it's the "jobs" myth and the environment, which I believe is an easier point to make.

Regardless…. Just who the hell ARE these other constituents of theirs? They tally it, they craft the response to support the vote they agree to make on behalf of the people who must be too ill-informed. After all, many of them watch MSM.

Damned few permanent jobs. The environmental impacts are harder to find, but it reminds me of a class I had in environmental ethics. We studied the Exxon Valdez oil spill, and how they were not prepared for it because the calculations had shown that an oil spill would occur statistically every 125 years....so why worry about it so early. This is just the kind of thinking that they are using with the Keystone.
