Bethlehem City-councilwoman Karen Dolan has been criticized recently for how she has been running a non-profit that uses a City-owned building. There are accusations that she used her position as chair of the Parks Board to get free fuel from the city, to have debts quietly forgiven and to allow alcohol sales in the building so it could be rented for weddings.

This week, the County District Attorney announced he was launching an investigation. Within a couple days, that council-woman led the charge to block the nomination by the Mayor of the DA's wife to an unpaid volunteer board. The DA's wife has a bachelors degree and professional experience in accounting for a major corporation, but the criticism was that she hasn't worked in many years because she has been a stay at home mom, and therefore is unqualified.
