PA. House Republicans kill compromise plan to extend federally-funded medical assistance

http://www.wfmz.com/news/pennsylvania-house-republicans-moves-to-kill-medicaid-provision/-/121458/20791536/-/rasn0k/-/index.html

Today, the teabaggers in the PA. House followed through on their threat. They killed the bi-partisan Senate plan to expand federally funded medical assistance to hundreds of thousands of PA. residents. Therefore, our taxes will go to extending health care coverage to persons in other states, without covering our own citizens. PA. will also miss out on 35,000 new health care jobs, and our inner city and rural hospitals will be faced with closure.

The grown-ups in the PA. Senate had worked out a compromise that addressed the concerns of moderate Republicans. However, it wasn't enough to satisfy teabaggers who just hate the government doing anything for anybody.

These teabaggers have modeled themselves after Ron Swanon on Parks and Recreation:

"..I don’t believe in government. I think that all government is a waste of taxpayer money. My dream is to have the park system privatized and run entirely for profit by corporations, like Chuck E. Cheese. They have an impeccable business model. I would rather work for Chuck E. Cheese.”

“My idea of a perfect government is one guy who sits in a small room at a desk, and the only thing he’s allowed to decide is who to nuke. The man is chosen based on some kind of IQ test, and maybe also a physical tournament, like a decathlon."

It was inevitable with these selfish assholes in office...it's just still shocking to hear it, though.

taxpayer-funded insurance. These jerks should get the people they REALLY work for (their corporate masters) to pay for their health care.

My state senator, the queen of Republican puppets in the state senate, Kim Ward , was one of only 10 senators to vote against the Medicaid expansion. Looking at her biggest campaign contributors, it is easy to see just who she represents (not the average citizen). She is shameless.
