A PA. state rep. just sent out a message that Corbett is trying to sneak text into one of the final budget bills that would authorize his privatization of the Pa. Lottery. Fortunately, some Dems actually read the full text before it came up for a vote.
While the "budget" was passed yesterday, there are many related bills that must be approved to carry out the budget, which is happening today.
If you remember, Attyn. Gen. Kane said it was unconstitutional for Corbett to try to sell off the PA. Lottery to a British Company for the next 30 years without having authority from the PA. Legislature. In a thick technical bill, he may have been trying to grab that authority.
"Colonel Blake, sign right here, here and here."

(4,033 posts)I hate this man. He has to lose his seat next year. If he doesn't, my hate will be 4 times what it is now, and I will fight him every step of the way.

(9,267 posts)He will succeed in destroying what's left of PA by the time he's done even if we show him the door next year. I'm guardedly optimistic that between the Penn State fiasco and destroying public schools he's made enough enemies to escort him out.

(4,452 posts)Rendell, every time I met him impressed me as the standard greasy politico who couldn't answer a question with a straight answer but Gov Gashole either won't answer or outright lie.

If only Corbett showed as much concern and loyalty to the general populace of the state as he does to his corporate masters.

(3,245 posts)I'm starting to think this may well be the final push. I don't think it'll get into any of the appropriation bills still pending, but who knows.
And for those who remember, one of the big things Corbett promised was an additional 50M for senior services. My guess is that part or all of it will be removed if this deal doesn't go through.
