"First, Corbett undertook a highly political and partisan investigation with respect to “Bonusgate” defendants shortly before his re-election year 2008. For over a year, Corbett exclusively concentrated on Democratic legislators and ignored the Republican House and Senate leaders who engaged in similar conduct.

Under scrutiny of the 2008 campaign, Corbett reluctantly afforded minimal resources to Republican bonus issues.
