The Royal Governor of PA. Releases Edict Announcing that PA. Lottery Has Been Sold to the Englanders

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20130111_Corbett_announces_deal_to_privatize_the_Pa__Lottery.html

Corbett announced today that the PA. Lottery has now been turned over to a British Company for the next 20 years. A legal contract will be signed in the next day or two. They are promising internet gambling. What could possibly go wrong?

Why the sudden rush to have this deal completed this week? Do you think it could have anything to do with the fact that Kathleen Kane gets sworn in as PA. Attorney General next Tuesday? Corbett is able to get compliant legal opinions from his current hand-picked interim Attorney General.

How the hell can this big a 20 year deal be done without any action of the Legislature? There was only one hearing, and that was by one committee 3 days ago.

Corbett gave the union a couple days earlier this week to try to offer an alternative, once he realized that was a contractual obligation.

I didn't know we had a king ruling over the state. This is incredible that he can do this without any input, discussion, or votes from our representatives. Boggles the mind.

Things have to change if this is legal.

AG Kane promised to investigate Corbett's inaction and conflicts of interest on dealing with the Sandusky and Penn State pedophile scandal.

Corbett is a big supporter of and involved with Sandusky's charity, the one that Sandusky used to groom victims. Corbett should have recused himself but didn't. Instead he started a one man investigation which went no where and we know the rest of that story.

SOB Corbett knows his days are numbered so he's wrecking the place. I can't wait until he's gone.

Of course that will cost the commonwealth taxpayers even more money.

This guy is amazing.

there are some interesting comments here.

According to one poster, Camelot has already registered in Delaware, thus taking advantage of the Delaware tax loophole. Nice. I would expect nothing less of a company associated with Corbett.

during a radio interview I recently listened to that the only way the contractor net more money than the state currently takes in is to add other forms of gambling to the lottery. The state workers could have done that too.

Its an outrage that the governor pulled this without permission from the legislature.

Thanks to blue neen for hitting the nail on the head. The Allentown Morning Call, WFMZ, or any of the media I read or heard used the correct term "Outsourcing" to describe what Corbett did. I guess outsourcing would sound negative to most people.

I wish I could say it's because he's a republican.

But Richie Daley was guilty of the same kind of malfeasance here in Chicago with the parking meters and the Skyway.

there will be some public uprising. How this fool was elected in the first place is a mystery to me. He is ruining our state in so many ways and the blind sheep in the state legislature are just fine with that. Women's health issues, the environment, the teachers, unions, ......what is next?

I think Corbett wants to be fired/impeached or whatever, before the news of his complicity in the Sandusky case are known. As if that would shield him from incarceration.

have become Corbett's henchmen in the battle against seniors and the needy poor.

Add to the other things that many seniors will have to battle for is that managed care for seniors is just around the corner. Anyone who knows someone elderly knows that their health needs cannot be effectively and effeciently administered through a managed care system.
