Police make mass arrests in Pa. Capitol as protestors decry state investments in Israel

HARRISBURG — A loud protest in the state Capitol Rotunda on Monday against Pennsylvania spending on Israel-issued bonds — carried out in the same spot where Gov. Josh Shapiro will deliver his budget address Tuesday — led to mass arrests.

A large throng of protestors bearing signs and wearing “Divest from Genocide” shirts occupied large portions of the grand staircase and other areas being prepared for Mr. Shapiro’s much-anticipated address. An elevated speaking platform, massive television screens, and hundreds of chairs already were in place when the protest began.

Between 1 and 2 p.m. many people were restrained with their hands behind their backs by police officers and led away, even as chants against state investing decisions continued.

Lilah Saber, identified by a participant as a spokesperson for the group, said there were more than 150 arrests overall. “There were about 10 folks from Pittsburgh” in that number, she said.

Didn't they tell us that the building was closed due to roof repairs? The PA Legislature is on extended (paid) leave right now, and they aren't back in session until the end of March. I'm guessing that Senator John Fetterman was not among those arrested.

the Star of David is on the Israeli flag and the CCP has ruled (destroyed) China since 1949.

... just as there's no monolith of Catholic voters on the issue of abortion (pro or con).

I hate how the Repukes cloak their closet antisemitism by pretending to be "pro-Palestinian."

scapegoats and Israel is full of Jews, the media will report on these things until we're sick of seeing them, and since the media has a very strong conservative bent, it will be used as a hammer on Biden.

I've said for years: "Anti-Israel is anti-Jew but in nice, politically acceptable language."

"But Israel has done. . ." is the modern day "Damn Jews."
