Bobcat in bathroom of Oklahoma newspaper startles publisher

SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) — A small-town Oklahoma newspaper publisher found a startling front-page story practically in his newsroom: There was a hissing bobcat in the bathroom.

Sapulpa Herald
publisher Darren Sumner says the wild animal jumped at him one recent morning as he was heading into the restroom at his office in Sapulpa, a Tulsa suburb.

Sumner shut the door and trapped the adult male cat inside until police and a game warden arrived. Wildlife control workers captured the bobcat in a cage and released it in nearby Pawnee County.

Neither Sumner nor the wild cat was injured in the confrontation.

Sumner said the animal likely got into his building through an open door.

I would hate to meet a frightened and angry bobcat especially inside a building.

I was taking a walk at work in the evening, rounded a corner and there was a bobcat just sitting there....I stopped in my tracks and said, "OMG, you are gorgeous.......wait.......why aren't you moving?" and then I heard some squeaking noises behind me so I slowly turned my head back and.....it was two bobcat kittens.....I slowly looked back at mom and said, "I'm backing away now".....she remained quite calm as I did just that....probably used to the work folk

Leo is the guard cat and always on the ready. One afternoon I was at my desk which faces a window on our front porch. Leo suddenly bolted off the porch running towards the gate and the road. I chased after him to keep him off the road, but he turned to a brushy area and stopped.

There was a half grown bobcat just sitting there about 10 or 12 feet from the both of us. He/she looked totally unconcerned about the human and the cat. I tossed some twigs its way and finally the bobcat just sauntered away. That think would've tore Mr. Leo to pieces.
