Contacting Portman

Is virtually impossible. I am beyond frustrated that I have not been able to get through to speak to any aides in his Washington office regarding healthcare.

Senator Brown is actually taking our calls and passing them on to Portman's team. So at least we can have our opposition to the AHCA heard in a round about way.

Has anyone had any luck reaching Portman in a townhall or phone setting? Also, any other suggestions for me, any route to have our voice heard that I'm unaware of? Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated.

Thank all.

I have called the C-bus office twice, it's very hard to get through to them. I expressed my concerns yesterday about the AHCA and was told it was "noted." The first time I called was regarding the appointment of SC.

Thank you for responding. I really wish Portman would hold an in person townhall, I missed the telephone TH held in May. I don't even know if it was actually held but it's on his website as the most recent meeting, so to speak.

It will connect you. You input your senators info & msg. It will print a fax at their office. I think I got that sequence right, I've been using the phone numbers to get humans at the different offices. There might be an upcharge depending on your cell phone carrier. Hope this helps

I called 12 times yesterday and no one answered. Eventually left one voice mail. I sent numerous tweets in case someone on Portman's staff reads them.

Some family members have pre-existing conditions while others have insurance coverage due to Medicaid expansion.

I attended one telephone "Town Hall" and it was a joke. There were few questions from participants and, as usual, the actual questions were not answered. Some talking point was spouted.

I figured the phone town halls were probably a farce. I think now that the President himself has spoke out, saying this bill is "mean, should be more generous and have more heart," gives us a huge opening to oppose it even more vehemently. That will be my talking point every time I call. I am going to call the Office in Washington only and flood that line with messages.

I'm sorry about your family. I don't have anyone personally affected, but my patients sure will be. I have a lot of down time at work so I'm usuing it constructively. Let me know if you get results. Good Luck rasberry.
