Why are we suddenly such a hot bed of idiocy?

I mean really. We have had fundy nutbars in this state since before the Civil War and we have managed to have good governance in spite of them.

Yes, I know about ALEC. But ALEC has been around for 40 years.

Why now? Why are they showing up here now with their blizzard of legislative harm?

in one state after another, my best guess is that they've improved their lying and gerry-mandering and vote-rigging very effectively.

Now they are gerrymandered in for awhile. We can outvote them and still not gain back control of decision making.

as people get wise to their bullshit and sick of their hamfisted interference in things they know nothing about, like the economy and women's health.

They know if they don't do it now, they'll have to wait another 50 years minimum to get any of it done.

They don't realize that bad legislation is overturned as soon as a population catches a clue and throws the reactionaries out on their arses.

Gerrymandering! Plus we dems are surronded by idotic neighbors, especially those of us that live outside the Triangle and the other few liberal urban areas. There are very, very few liberals or progressives out in rural NC, unfortunately.
