My wife and I are off to Asheville for a few days this week to celebrate our anniversary...

Give us a few great restaurant recommendations! We are looking for good coffee shops, good local brew, Indian and Vegetarian, primarily - but would love to hear whatever you wish to share! We will be there Tues thru Fri.

My niece and nephew live there, and they have informed that's where I will retire, someday. I can't wait to go and visit them, this summer.

The only restaurant I know of in Asheville is Bouchon and it's French. I hear a lot about it on Stephanie Miller's show and I would take Stephanie's recommendation, any day.

We are also considering it as a possible landing place - our house in Raleigh is getting too big for us...thinking of downsizing.

but I've bookmarked this thread for personal reasons. Visiting Asheville is on my bucket list, and I'd like to see what others suggest. Happy anniversary.

I've never been to Asheville, so I can't help you there...

But I hope you'll have a wonderful time!

The Laughing Seed Cafe is wonderful. We consider it worth the trip just to have lunch there.

My favorite is Salsa's Mexican and Caribbean Restaurant.
They have great vegetarian choices and wonderful margaritas

Edited to add: Be sure and plan an hour or two at a wonderful
gallery of local and recent artists, New Morning Gallery in the
Biltmore Shops area.

My husband and I retired in Asheville and love it here. Curate is our favorite restaurant but its very busy and I'd recommend reservations. I just saw your post and realize you are already here, but hopefully you have 'access'.

Lion and Rose B&B on Montford was a fine choice...amazing breakfasts. meals - we just had three late lunch/dinner type meals (breakfasts too big, so ate twice/day!)....Salsas was superb (huge portions, amazing flavors) - Laughing Seed was really good, Chai Panis was really fun (and great value and yummy!). Had a great pint of Founders Breakfast Stout at Barley's.

Went by way too fast!
