Rochester-area developer pays $1 million application fee for proposed Seneca County casino resort

Robert Harding

Wilmorite is in it to win it.

Chairman Thomas C. Wilmot Sr. said the Rochester-area developer has paid a $1 million application fee to the New York State Gaming Commission, a major step in the process to compete for one of four casino licenses the state will award this year.

Wednesday is the deadline for interested parties to submit the required application fee.

"We are full speed ahead and we are definitely in it to win it," Wilmot said. "By the end of June, when applications must be submitted, we believe we will have the biggest and best casino proposal in the Finger Lakes/Southern Tier region.
