Jordan Carleo-Evangelist, Staff Writer
U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has been named to Time magazines list of the 100 most influential people, joining the likes of President Barack Obama, new Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, Senate colleague Rand Paul, Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Pope Francis.
The junior senator from New York, who gained national prominence this year for her unsuccessful crusade to reform the way the military handles sexual assault allegations, is praised in the magazines feature by one of her Republican predecessors: Former Republican U.S. Sen. Al DAmato.
